You won't go to the gym or cook more simple because you know you "should". You need to be connected to the why. Is it to feel proud? Sexy? Empowered? Comfortable? Strong? Successful?
Wouldn't it be easier and more enjoyable if everything we did had the intention of "feeling good" behind it?
Eating kale, eating french fries, going for a run, taking a walk, calling a friend, sending a note, cooking, cleaning, laughing, singing, dancing... all of these make me feel good. That is the intention.
Imagine the shift you would feel in the quality of your life if everything you did was motivated by feeling good.
Not outside approval.
Not your boss, your partner, your neighbor, or the person failing to merge on the highway.
Not potential "likes" on Facebook.
But to simply feel good. Like really experience it. And then owning that feeling. Relishing in it. Knowing that is your natural state of being.
Can you imagine how much more productive we would be? How much happier? Healthier? What a revolution!
This is where honest and purposeful motivation and commitment come to play.
Why do you do the things you do? The big stuff and the little stuff.
Does it come from a place of love or a place of hate?
Connecting to the "why" behind your goals, dreams, and daily actions is the key to a big healthy and happy life.
Your "why" determines the quality of your experience and your role as the Creator and not the Victim.
Your "why" is the difference between getting it done with a smile or sitting on the couch feeling defeated.
Also recognize, if you are sitting on the couch to feel good, and that is your intention, then you are doing it right. If you are eating the ice cream because it makes you feel good, then you are doing it right.
Be honest with yourself and with your goals. Allow your feelings to guide the process and show you where to put your energy.
And remember: "feeling good is the primary intention."
It is why we are here. It is why we have so many beautiful places and people to experience. Otherwise, why bother? Why do it at all?
Don't hide, belittle, or shame feeling good. You deserve to feel good. We all do. So do more things that make you feel that way, whatever that is for you. Then tell people about it. Inspire and empower them to do the same.
What makes you feel good?
How can feeling good fuel your goals/dreams/desires?
Where are you acting from a place of obligation, fear, or guilt?
I want to know.
